Product traceability system

Traceability management by product identification code, with lookup of material and production batch information

The infant car seat (hereafter C-SEAT) is a premium, luxurious product for young children, and the quality requirements for it are extremely high; the production status of every one of its components must therefore be traceable.

The C-SEAT product traceability system is a system for the infant car seat manufacturing industry that exercises detailed control over how materials are used in a product. Using the product identification code, it can quickly trace how the materials used in that product were consumed, such as the production date, the operators, the materials used, and the corresponding control batch numbers. Working with the user's MRP/ERP system, it then traces the origin of a material through the control batch number of the material used. This plays an extremely critical role in handling customer complaints, and also provides strong software support for winning customers' trust.

Key advantages

[Control center]

The C_seat console mainly includes two modules, finished-product assembly management and one-stop traceability, comprising dozens of operation screens in total. They are briefly described below.

Production swiping is used during production on the factory floor to record a component's barcode label (mainly the material information used).

[Finished-product swiping system]

Once component swiping is complete, combined swiping is performed.

[Rework swiping system]

If a problem is traced to certain materials during production, the components produced need to be reworked, which is done through modification swiping.

1. Basic data covers entry of static data such as departments, job titles, and units

2. Data management covers material data maintenance, manufacturing order import, historical data archiving, and archived data recovery

  • 3. Production control covers manufacturing-order material management, production-line material returns and replenishment, production control operations, defective-product repair operations, balance-quantity completion operations, barcode scrapping operations, production rework operations, and one-stop traceability

4. Quality traceability covers barcode traceability, manufacturing batch traceability, component material traceability, and material traceability

  • 5. Report queries cover product repair record queries, barcode label queries, combined-product reports, component production reports, finished-product barcode combination status, component barcode combination status, rework and scrap material queries, production swiping progress queries, combiner output quantity queries, and remaining material quantity queries

6. System management covers permission settings, user management, operation logs, and password changes
