Advantages

Five kinds of user experience, from portal building to extension add-ons

01Portal management

Site clusters, built with ease

  • For larger customers with complex business structures and a wide geographic spread, multiple subsites can be managed uniformly on a single platform and system; each subsite can operate independently or share resources, forming a distributed, multi-site content management platform.
  • It supports importing and exporting site groups and confidential site management, as well as activating and closing sites, making complex site clusters easier to manage.

Single sign-on, unified authentication

  • For multi-application integration scenarios it provides “single sign-on, access across the whole network”; an object access permission model and role definition mechanism balance security and ease of use for user groups and multi-level permissions.
  • It offers solid extensibility, supports onboarding new application systems, and supports integration with a CA.

Portal management, covering every angle

  • Flexible module management makes it easy to extend and integrate new functions and applications.
  • Sections can be managed independently, and each section can be assigned a different list template and detail-page template; the section structure and templates of an existing site can be used as a reference to quickly build a base structure.
  • It supports categorization and tiered management of registered users, multi-site user management, and remote control, all reasonably simple to operate. Administrators are configured at three levels, website users can be grouped to match different permissions, and the design takes account of the everyday needs of site administrators.

An independent platform with open interfaces

  • Built on a mature Web Service architecture, it delivers web-based distributed component applications, helping preserve the platform's independence and scalability and leaving room for future upgrades.
  • Open interface standards: it conforms to JMS, XML, Web Services, and related protocol frameworks, and it provides open application development interfaces that let users define their own business applications.
02Content management experience

A simple interface, a pleasant experience

  • A new UI design unifies the style of colors, fonts, and wording, and unifies the look of user controls and interaction habits, improving the experience.
  • Interaction elements such as tabs, the navigation tree, shortcut keys, and operation prompts are laid out sensibly, function buttons are complete, and there is plenty of room for personal adjustments and customization.
  • The personal workspace brings together frequently used operations and recent-access history, helping simplify daily work.

Information collection through many channels

  • It supports manual entry, bulk import, web crawling, bulk document import and export in XML, and article import and export at section and article level. It supports information delivery modes such as different-source/different-presentation, same-source/same-presentation, and same-source/different-presentation, along with trigger mechanisms for manual forwarding and automatic distribution, and information sharing and pushing between site clusters.
  • It provides Web Services interfaces so other business systems can obtain website section information, and it can make Web Services calls to enterprise business systems. This multi-channel information collection model handles large volumes of information.
  • It supports virtual sections: new search conditions can be set to pull data from other sections and quickly combine it into a new virtual section.

Content editing with complete functionality

  • It provides a browser-based visual document editor with what-you-see-is-what-you-get editing: fonts, sizes, and alignment can be changed directly in the editor, and HTML elements such as images, tables, and links can be inserted. It supports mixed text and graphics as well as visual template editing and workflow customization.
  • It supports copy-and-paste, preview, and download of articles, offers several kinds of information format templates, supports document version control and the sticky duration of information, and provides automatic hotspot-term generation, keyword auto-suggest, and automatic document pagination.
  • It supports free information formats and specific information formats: the specific format targets publications and books with relatively fixed layouts and offers form-based back-end customization so that pages with a fixed display format can be generated.

Review and publishing, combined freely

  • Review and publishing workflows can be freely customized: by customizing content management workflows you can publish directly, review before publishing, or run repeated editing and review, with multi-level review flows that can be changed. Review management works at user, website, and section level, and flows can be defined visually.
  • Publishing methods are comprehensive: immediate, scheduled, synchronous, asynchronous, packaged, related, full, incremental, and tiered publishing, and subsites can be published to different servers, which improves publishing efficiency and fits the needs of different scenarios.

Template management made simple

  • Template-based publishing separates content from presentation, so content staff and designers each focus on their own work.
  • Templates can be edited visually with tools such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage, reducing designers' reliance on HTML code.
  • It offers a rich set of UI and function plug-ins and supports tiered template management: a site cluster, a website, or a single section can each have several template styles, different articles can be assigned different templates, and users can choose a template when publishing and previewing.
  • It supports template nesting and template inheritance, and uses dynamic channel information extraction to share templates across different website channels, which raises template reuse and cuts template maintenance.

Content search, designed around you

  • It provides search within a site cluster and across designated sites on the internet.
  • Combined with the information editing functions, it provides automatic summaries, automatic keyword extraction, and automatic de-duplication.
  • Combined with information collection, it can gather information from the internet and from within the site.
  • Articles containing sensitive words are automatically extracted and submitted to the appropriate staff for review.

Backup and restore with flexible policies

  • It supports importing and exporting site-cluster structure, site structure, section structure and content, individual articles, and templates; unified backup of distributed servers and distributed storage of backups; and full, differential, and incremental backups, along with manual/automatic backup, cluster-service backup, and load balancing of cluster backups.
  • It supports automatic deferred backup: once a backup starts, it temporarily yields resources when other applications need more of them and resumes once resources are free.
03Content collaboration experience

Full collaboration for teams and individuals

  • It supports work in many forms, from team information sharing, communication, and collaboration to personal service management, including group scheduling, task management, corporate bulletin boards, workflow management, instant messaging, email notifications, an address book, bookmarks, favorites, a personal workspace, and personalization.

A workflow engine that is flexible and dynamic

  • Transaction processing is driven by workflow and combined with a personalized interface, helping reshape traditional ways of working.
  • It can be referenced flexibly in the content management system and the overall solution, for example by defining the needed workflows in an information publishing process, a reporting process, or other applications.
  • It has a visual customization interface, so business staff can normally define, reorganize, and adjust flows themselves, and the flow then runs automatically as configured.

A personal workspace for efficient collaboration

  • The personal workspace is a personalized service interface for site administrators. It brings together site management, document management, team collaboration, and personal services. Users can freely arrange their views and customize frequently used operations, and work awaiting their attention is pushed automatically to the workspace with reminders.
  • It shows the progress of the team's work, enables instant messaging between teams, and supports task management, individual and team workload statistics, and access records.
04Shared interaction experience
JBCMS provides a rich set of general-purpose interaction tools for websites, making a site one of the channels through which government bodies and enterprises communicate with users. The main tools are: forums, link exchanges, e-journals, email subscriptions, surveys, feedback collection, and message boards.

05Extension add-ons
For website applications that demand greater specialization and interactivity, users can add extension add-ons on top of the unified JBCMS content management platform to enrich the site's services and management features.

Image library management

  • It provides image content management covering collection, processing, and publishing. Every administrator can have a personal image library, and a shared image library is also created in the system.

Ad management

  • It manages and reports on ad files, positions, types, and clients on web pages. It supports many ad formats — banners, ad bars of various sizes, floating ads, and scrolling ads — and media types including text, images, video, and FLASH.

Form management

  • It provides management of electronic forms, including adding, editing, and deleting them. Related keywords can be set to link forms with information, and related sections can be set to publish to multiple sections across multiple sites at the same time.

Enterprise e-commerce

  • It provides product management and an online store, with support for online payment, fund settlement, and query and reporting.

Personalization

  • After registering successfully, users can customize their personal page content. The page offers targeted services and presentation styles, with both pushed and on-demand information delivery.

Blogs

  • It provides online journaling for users.
